Event Type?

This is a 5K run/walk.

What time is registration?

Registration begins at 8:30am on the day of the race at Hollywood Casino Toledo.

Where do I park for this event?

You will be parking at Hollywood Casino Toledo. There will be signs directing you to the back parking lot near the Maumee River.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Please bring your printed ticket packet or the digital ticket on your smart phone for registration on race day.

What is included with my registration?

Each registered runner will receive a 2017 limited edition Responsible Gaming T-shirt and a color packet. If you are registering the day of the event, the T-shirts will be given out on a first come first basis until the supply is gone.

How is the color administered along the race?

You will see smiling faces along the course whose main goal is to douse you in colorful powder to ensure that you look like you ran through a beautiful rainbow by the time you cross the finish line.

Is the color powder safe?

The health and safety of our participants and our team members is at the forefront of our minds and actions. The color powder we use is certified non-toxic and free of any heavy materials. It is made from corn-starch and natural food dyes. It will wash out of your clothes; however we suggest you leave your designer gear at home! Only wear what you’re willing to get colorful.

Will the color stain my hair?

The color powder does wash out of your hair; however we do recommend you take precautions if you’re worried! The color does tend to stick to lighter hair… Oiling your hair before the run will help the color wash out. If you’re having trouble washing it after the event, bi-carb soda and anti-dandruff shampoo will help get the more stubborn color out! We do not take any responsibility for additional costs associated with the removal of color.

What should I wear to protect my eyes?

We suggest some form of eyewear. Some people wear sunglasses or swim goggles. Have some fun with it and try to avoid getting powder in your eyes.

Are there “cleaning stations” at the event?

We will have an air blown cleaning zone area. With a good dusting off, you aren’t 100% clean, but you are totally good for the drive home. It is actually pretty fun to see people still colored up around town after The Color Smash event. It is like a badge of honor!

Are cameras and phones safe to have at the event?

If you want to get shots right in the midst of the Color Smash we recommend covering cameras/phones with glad wrap or placing your phone in a zip lock bag.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

There is no age limit for this event. It is open to all ages. Participants that are 12 and younger do not need a ticket to enjoy this event.

Should I bring anything else to the event?

Some people bring a change of clothes or towels to put on the seat of their car for the ride home.

Is my registration/ticket transferable?

Registrations are non-transferable.

This is a rain or shine event. No refunds.
